why we Flash Pasteurise

Once the apples have been pressed, the juice is flash pasteurised to keep it safe and fresh.

Flash pasteurisation is a quick heating process. The juice is heated to between 71°C and 85°C for around 15 to 30 seconds, before being cooled down again straight away.

Makes the Juice Safe

Heating the juice for a short time destroys harmful bacteria that can naturally be present in fresh apple juice, making it safe to drink.

Keeps the Fresh Apple Taste

Because the juice is only heated for a few seconds, it keeps much more of its natural apple flavour, colour and aroma than traditional longer heating methods.

Keeps More of the Good Stuff

The short heating time helps protect many of the vitamins and natural compounds found in fresh apples.

A Longer Shelf Life

Flash pasteurisation helps the juice stay fresh for much longer without losing the quality and flavour that make fresh apple juice so enjoyable.
